How ToolGalaxy Keeps Your Files Private
Exactly what stays on your device, what does not, and how to check it yourself. No accounts, no uploads of your files.
Privacy is not a slogan here; it is how the tools are built. Below is what we do, what we do not do, and the few things that do leave your browser, so you can decide for yourself.
What stays on your device
- The files, text and images you put into a tool. They are read and processed by your own browser, and the result is created locally.
- Everything you type: JSON, passwords, dates, loan amounts and so on.
- Generated values such as passwords and UUIDs. They are made with your browser's secure random generator and never stored or sent.
What we do not do
- No accounts, sign-ups or logins.
- No uploading, storing or reading your files. We do not have a server that receives them.
- No selling or sharing of your input.
What does leave your browser
Being honest about this matters more than a perfect-sounding claim:
- Loading the page. Visiting any website sends a request to its host. ToolGalaxy is hosted on Cloudflare, which keeps standard server logs (such as IP address and the pages requested).
- Libraries from a public CDN. The PDF tools and the code formatters load open-source libraries (pdf-lib, js-beautify) from cdnjs.cloudflare.com the first time you use them. These requests contain no file data.
- Ads. After a page has loaded, it may show Google AdSense ads. Google may use cookies for advertising as described in our Privacy Policy. Ads never receive your files.
- Your own device. We store a dark-mode preference in your browser, and a service worker may cache the site's pages and scripts so repeat visits load faster. You can clear both in your browser settings.
- Analytics. We do not currently run analytics. If we add it, it will be cookieless page-view counting and this page will say so.
Check it yourself
You do not have to take our word for it. Open your browser's Network tab, use a tool and watch what is sent, or turn off your connection and see that the tool still works. Our step-by-step guide shows how: How to check that an online tool does not upload your files.
Limits
Client-side processing protects your files from our servers, not from your own computer: browser extensions, malware or a shared device can still see what you do. For very sensitive documents, use a trusted, up-to-date device. See the license and terms for open-source credits.
